A small referral offer needs a concrete reason to fit.

Lingather Talk, our own product, helps two people speak across languages on one phone. We used its $5-per-purchase referral offer to test whether FindRove could produce research worth acting on.

The brief

Find publishers serving English-speaking travelers in China and East Asia. Look for practical language-barrier or translation-app content, public affiliate-promotion evidence and a business contact route.

One candidate, with the sources left visible

Baba Goes China!

A translation-app guide for China provides a concrete place where a hands-on product demonstration could help readers. The work-with-me page lists “Affiliate Partnerships”.

These are research signals, rather than an agreement. Acceptance of a $5 commission, availability and email deliverability remain unconfirmed.

A useful opening

Refer to the existing translation guide. Offer a short restaurant conversation demonstration, then ask whether a small referral trial fits the publisher’s editorial policy. This is a suggested approach; we have not sent it.

What the pilot established

For this candidate, the practical placement, commercial signal and business route can be checked against public sources. That is a narrower finding than a claim of successful recruitment. The pilot did not establish response rate, conversions or sales.

What we still measure

Repeated searches may vary with topic, source access and evidence quality. Provider spend is recorded per run; a small pilot does not establish a stable cost or success rate for every search. We use held and negative cases to check that missing evidence stays missing.
